Fertiliser Comment, 3 April

Local urea prices collapsed this week as one of the local importers had a vessel arrive with some unpriced cargo.

Tasmania prices today are now trading below world import replacement in the spot market as the importers look to off load their risk.

This looks like a buying opportunity for the astute farmer. Phosphate prices are largely unchanged- although similar to urea – local Tasmanian offers seem to be very aggressive against current world prices.
