STUDENT PROGRAM

For many years, Tasmania, particularly its agricultural sector, has experienced a significant loss of talented young Tasmanians who often seek career prospects elsewhere, both on the mainland and overseas.

The Tasmanian Government has set forth an objective to elevate the annual value of the agricultural sector to $10 billion by the year 2050. Achieving this goal necessitates a growth rate that surpasses the sector's historical performance over the past two decades.

At XLD, we wholeheartedly support this government initiative. However, we understand that such aspirations cannot be realised without the active participation of individuals. Hence, we prioritise the creation of opportunities and support for young Tasmanians with a passion for agriculture.

LOCAL STUDENTS

Each year, we take on an enthusiastic team of Harvest Casuals, comprised largely of students from local schools and universities, as well as those returning for summer from interstate colleges.

INDUSTRY TRAINING

XLD provide industry training in grain testing, and machinery operation, as well as ongoing opportunities for career progression.

FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES

A number of our team have started out as harvest casuals, developing their role into permanent positions in other areas of the business.
